Talking in whispers

The Silver Lion say on page 9 ” Freedom will be reborn. Not just for a few, but for all. The prison door will opens and the spirit of justice, and of equality, will fly forth with the strength of the condor.”

The Silver Lion say that ALL  the people will be free again, that they won’t be scared anymore of going in the street and be arrested. That “the prion door will open” mean that the prisoners are going to be free again (but most of the prisoners were arrested for nothing).

Also the people are going to be equal; they are going to do the same thing as everybody and not judged for what they are.

By justice we mean , that they are going to do what you want to do and not going to go in prison for what you are doing.

by saying “will fly forth with the strength of the condor.” we mean that will fly really high and really good, but it’s a metaphore that people of Chile will be fine again.

Anne Frank Quote

At page. 97  Anne Frank says “ I see the eight of us with our Secret Annexe as if we were a little piece of blue heaven, sourrunded by heavy black rain clouds”

This quotation have mark me because it tells me the point of vue of the war by an innocent person and someone that is a victim of the war. This tells me that the key theme is hope and it tells me what Anne thinks of the Secret Annexe.

The Boy in the Stripped Pyjammas-Quote

Bruno likes exploring, but he isn’t allowed to explore behind his house where he saw those men working on the other side of the fence. He is an innocent boy, who doesn’t know much about the world, and he certaintly doesn’t understand why he is forbidden to go be near that camp. The next day or so he has contradicted his parents and went to discover the camp. This is when Bruno meets Shmuel, and they start hanging out. Their friendship grows and he finds out by his sister Gretel that those men are Jews, so basically they are supposed to be  adversaries.

“We’re not supposed to be friends, you and I. We’re meant to be enemies. Did you know that?”

This line has a significally importance to the german-jewish restrictions. Despite the fact that Bruno is german-blooded and Shmuel is Jewish after this quote ,they still remained friends even if it was against the law. Their friendship meant a lot to them and this what struck my attention during the novel.

Bruno knowns that they are opposed to remain friends, but he doesn’t care. It’s not clear to him, why they have to be enemies, He doesn’t recognise Shmuel as an evil, malevalent person. From this statement he wanted to clearify the fact that they’re not concidered to be friends, but he wanted to show that he isn’t affected by this opposition.

Anne Frank – Quote

“Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.”
I like this quote cause because in a just full sentence she says a lot. Someone who is lazy is somebody who chose ease. Is someone who will never has principle et never can go higher. When it will be to difficult for this person he will gives up. This person never can’t go ahead. This is why work give satisfaction. Because you can evolve et go ahead the futur and your life.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas – quote

Bruno goes to his father to complain about their new “home”: Out-With and demand to go back to their real home in Berlin.
“Bruno, sometimes there are things we need to do in life that we don’t have a choice in,…” Page 48

This quote is significant because, as a naive child, Bruno feels that the worst his life can get will be living in Out-With and his Father has reasons for the whole family moving there which he does not care to share but tries to explain why they moved there in vague terms due to Bruno’s age.  Bruno’s father is trying to teach him a value of life; acceptance. To accept something we don’t want to do but what we need to do.

Anne Frank – quote

“Now we are so surrounded by danger and darkness that we bump against each other, as we search desperately for a means of escape.” Page 98.

I think this quote is significant because it tells the reader about Anne Frank’s desire of being free. She is trying to say that outside of the Annexe it’s dangerous and that everybody is disposed to do everything to escape from the war. This quote struck my attention because she is using images as well as in the sentences before this quote.  The theme that it suggest is hope getting free one day.

Anne Franc Quote

“If I just think of where we live here, I usually come to the conclusion that this is paradise compared to where other jews that are not in hidding are living.”The Diary of Anne Franc.Page 68.
I chose this quote because it choses how awful life can be but that other people can have it worse. Anne here has been living in her Annex for a year or so in horible cramped and dirty conditions. Anne here realy hates where she is but she has hope that it will get better and that she is lucky. Lucky compared to other jews in concentration camps.Anne here shows that she is compashionate to other people.

The Boy In The Striped Pijamas Quote

“we’re here at Out-With because someone said out with the people before us?”

This quote was said by Bruno to Gretal. I think that in this he was trying to pass the message that he though about how he doesnt like the way people are mean here, and that the people here probably kicked out the others living at out with before them.

The Diary of a Young Girl – Quote

“Let me get away, away from everything, away from this world!” p.56

I chose this quote because it shows that life and everything else in it can be really bad and horrible but that you must still stick with the people who mean something to you like family and friends. Even though in this quote Anne is raging at her Mother and everybody else around her she still shows courage and bravery at the fact that she is in hidding.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas quote:

‘I think Poland is in Denmark’, said Bruno

This quote isn’t very significant to the book but it shows that Bruno’s understanding of the world is poor. This quote also shows that is not taught about the Jewish comunities at school.
