On Monday 30th April, Dr. James Grimes will be visiting the Maths department to present an Enigma machine and run a series of workshops on coding and cryptography. The Enigma was a machine invented by the Germans during WWII to encrypt their military communications and that Britain’s codebreakers led by Alan Turing successfully cracked.

Here is a list of 30 library resources on cryptography (in English and in French), ranging from easy-to-read history to in-depth mathematical cryptography or programming.
